Streets of Rage rumored for Live Arcade, ends up on Wii instead

A recent rumor pins Sega classic Streets of Rage to be Live Arcade bound, via developer Sumo Digital, but this certainly looks like a dud at the moment. The game have been confirmed, but for Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console download service.

Let’s hope it will end up on Live Arcade further along the line. Take a look at the Wikipedia page for a nostalgic journey.

  1. I disagree. VC games aren’t developed by studios, but are direct ports. If this rumor is true it’s a game for Playstation 3 or XBLA.

  2. You may very well be right on this, however I think it’s a bit suspicious that this piece of news starts to circulate just before the announcement of a Wii Virtual Console version. I still believe that the rumor came from the Virtual Console version, not a Live Arcade one.

    I would be happy to be wrong, of course.
