Strategy mayhem with Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Commander’s Challenge 0

Strategy type games have always been the domain of PCs mainly because the many controls are best suited to a keyboard and mouse setup. But lately, consoles are showing that strategy games can be a viable genre for it, too.

Action and strategy fans will love the fact that Command & Conqure Red Alert 3 Commander’s Challenge has been released on Xbox Live Arcade a few days ago.

The Commander’s Challenge will pit you against different commanders (including the WWE’s Ric Flair) as you try to defeat 50 different challenges. You will employ different units, including the formidable Giga Fortress, Cryo Legionnaire and Desolator.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Commander’s Challenge is 800 points at the Xbox Live Arcade.

Sonic & Knuckles speeds to XBLA 0

Any self-respecting gamer will have played a Sonic The Hedgehog game. Sega’s mascot and Mario’s rival had some wonderful games under his belt, the platforming classics that relied on speed and precision more than anything.

Xbox Live Arcade is now bringing another great Sonic adventure with Sonic & Knuckles. This is the first game where Knuckles has become a “good guy” — assisting Sonic in defeating Dr. Eggman.

Players can play either as Sonic or Knuckles with different sets of abilities. There will be eight new zones and two different adventures added to the game. One unique feature of this version is that players can combine this with Sonic 3 to allow players to play as Sonic, Knuckles or Tails to uncover secrets. The game can also be combined with Sonic 2 and use Knuckles. This is a great add-on feature that will extend the life of any of the games.

At 400 MS points, Sonic & Knuckles is a great game to get.

Tales of Wakfu soon on XBLA 0

Fans of the animated cartoon series Wakfu will be happy to know that a game based on the series is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. The game, Tales of Wakfu, is being developed and will probably be released either in late 2010 or early 2011. Ankama, a French company, is developing the game.

From the demo presented by Ankama, the art work of the cartoon was recreated well in the game. Being a demo, the controls are still a bit wonky. This Action RPG adventure game will be a great addition to the games on XBLA.
