April is an amazing month for video game releases, with major titles coming out for every game system and for Windows gaming. Dead Island: Riptide – Fans of zombie flicks won’t want to miss the latest Dead Island release, which pits a gang of survivors against monsoons, rising waters and zombies in a fight for their lives. Injustice: Gods Among Us – DC Comics and the brains behind the Mortal Kombat series unite to bring players this fighting game featuring DC Comics superheroes. In this release, the superheroes and the villains you know and love fight injustice. A rich storyline rounds out Injustice, making it more than a simple fighting game. Defiance – A spinoff from the science fiction television series of the same name, Defiance features Ark Hunters, humans searching out advanced alien technology in a post-apocalyptic world. Travel the war-ravaged streets of San Francisco to find technology and battle other Ark Hunters to prevent them from reaching supplies and weapons before you do. Release date April 2. Available for Windows Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Star Trek – Play as either Kirk or Spock — or team up with a pal in multiplayer mode to play Kirk and Spock together — to battle the Gorn, who have attacked a New Vulcan colony. Friends can drop in to help with certain chapters or battles in the cooperative mode. The main character feature different gameplay styles: Kirk is the typical sharp shooter, while Spock prefers a stealth mode and can use the mind meld and Vulcan nerve pinch techniques. Kirk has a phaser that can stun enemies, while Spock’s weapon freezes enemies in place. Release date April 23. Available for Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall – Play as legendary assassin Daud, who killed Dunwall’s empress, in this expansion pack for the original Dishonored game from Arkane Studios. This release offers updates on Daud’s storyline and new access to weapons, allies, toys and supernatural skills. After assassinating the Empress, Daud begins a quest for redemption. Accompanied by a band of Whalers, Daud must search Dunwall to locate Delilah, with every choice he makes having a consequence later on in the game. Release date April 16. Available for Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
