RROD: Wonderful Timing 2

This is great, just great. We’re getting ready to relaunch Live Arcade Review, and what happens? Red Ring of Death. Blam. That’s one dead Xbox 360.

I’m sending it in this week. Hopefully it’ll work itself out, but there might be issues here, since I got my Xbox 360 as a press representative and everything. Fingers crossed. Worst case scenario is that I’m picking up a new one.

Stay tuned, yet again.

Another Upgrade, And We’re Almost Back in Business 0

We just did another technical upgrade. We’re also happy to announce that we’re almost back in business. Bear with us while we relaunch ourselves for real.

Upgrading site now – DONE! 0

Yes, I know we’ve been quiet, despite the amount of interesting people that have e-mailed me for a writing gig here at Live Arcade Review. I’m finally handling all these things.

Anyway, another upgrade is in progress, so please bear with me as everything breaks. I’ll post here again when it’s done. Upgrade seems to have gone smoothly.

Undertow free ’til Sunday 1

I brief message in the middle of the hiatus… Don’t forget to download Undertow, it’s free from Live Arcade until Sunday, as a “sorry, we screwed up during the Holidays” from Microsoft. I’m nabbing it now.

Updating the blog software 0

Fingers crossed as I update the blog software, WordPress, that Live Arcade Review runs on. Stuff will break and look weird while I get it up and running.

Thanks for your patience. I’ll update this post with a status report… Everything seems to be working nicely. Phew!

Reloading LAR 0

Guys, sorry for the hiatus. It’s been a couple of crazy months indeed. I’d like to thank all of you who e-mailed, most of you should have gotten their replies now. Yes, we’re still looking for people to review Xbox Live Arcade games, as well as Live Arcade games for Windows Vista for that matter.

As for the Live Arcade Review site, I’ll be updating software and doing an overhaul in the coming week. Hopefully nothing will break during that period of time. After that, reviews should start rolling again. I’ll just lay low on news for now, maybe inking out a partnership with some other Live Arcade site out there that focus on that sort of thing? We’ll see. I’m open to suggestions.

Right. Thanks for your patience. Be sure to subscribe so that you won’t miss our glorious comeback!

Wanted: Live Arcade blogger (paid position) 6

Folks, I’m sorry for the lack of updates here. Stuff happened (it always does, doesn’t it?) and sometimes you just have to take a few steps back and realize that you need to change things. So I have.

I still want to keep Live Arcade Review going though, so now I’m looking for bloggers that can get the load of my back. This is a paid position on a per post-basis! continue reading…

Still sick/swamped 0

I’m still sick I’m afraid, and the Mrs. is coughing and having a heavy fever. No fun at all. Barely keeping up with work and Live Arcade Review is suffering. That sucks. Lorien saved me last week but I can’t really push all this on him.

So I’ll take it easy for a while, and focus on the reviews rather than news. That was intended from the start, but I got a bit carried away with the newsy stuff.

Thanks for your patience. If you want to make sure you don’t miss out on future updates, please subscribe.

Six games on PartnerNet (that means they’re coming “soon”) 1

DaKing240 breaks the news about these six games being on PartnerNet:

  • Centipede
  • Milipede
  • Jetpac
  • Pinball FX
  • Alien Hominid
  • Ikaruga
  • While I feel I’ve had enough of both Centipede and Millipede, the other games are pretty interesting. We wrote about Ikaruga previously so that’s known. Alien Hominid should be great and I can’t wait to play Pinball FX, which we covered previously. Also, Jetpac being up there more or less confirms that it’s the game that Rare are working on.

    Catching up, linkblitzing edition 0

Being sick sucks. That means Live Arcade Review missed out on some heavy duty coverage. Bummer. Luckily, the community does the work for us!

Oh, and don’t forget that Paperboy is out now. A review is in the works.
